After yesterday, i have my credit card # memorized...uh oh

Its not as bad as i thought, i didn't actually spend a lot of money, but for this college student - it was a straight-up online shopping spree.  My school loan debt, LD, has this awful habit of planting itself in the back of my head at all times to eavesdrop and comment on all of my inner thoughts. examples: Me: "What should I eat for dinner?" LD: "A CAN OF BEANS! NOTHING MORE!" Me: "Well i should probably do some summer shopping..." LD: "JUST CUT THE LEGS OFF OF ALL YOUR JEANS!" and so on and so forth...
but i ignored my little friend, loan debt, because i have been wanting these 3 things (and one for the bf) for sooo long.

I have not yet found a regular, simple exercise band that doesn't break. I ordered 2 SPRI exercise tube bands - 1 light and 1 medium - from amazon. I use light and/or medium, and i don't use very heavy weights. I have to be careful with the way i exercise because my body tends to build muscle very quickly. Especially in my legs and butt. With my job as a model, i can't afford this, because measurements are the most important thing in our strange little world. I have found the best results, for me personally, to be using light/medium resistance in my exercises. I build strength, and long lean muscles at the same time. You don't have to use crazy extra heavy weights to get the metabolism boosting effects of strength training!

I also ordered the new Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings CD for the bf (and myself as well : ) ). I llooovvee sharon jones! She is amazing.

One more thing. The big ticket item. I did it, i fell for it, and i am proud of it. I ordered "The Butt Book" by David Kirsch. I have been wanting this one for so long. I have never bought an exercise book before, but i love David Kirsch's workouts. He is so smart and has the most creative ways of working multiple muscles at once. Plus, I just love myself a good butt workout! Is that weird?

A little preview:

CANNOT WAIT for this stuff to arrive!!

The Tortilla Zucchini Pizza

I got a pretty high fever thursday night and it has been slowly moving down (with the help of ibprofin - i haaattee taking ibprofin), but waking up this morning with a solid 98.0 makes me think it might actually be gone! WOHOO!! Except now i have no excuse not to study...

Dinner last night was one of those simple, but glorious, popped-into-your-head dinners. I was laying on the couch thinking about what we had in the fridge, and thinking about how i did not want to eat more graham crackers and chicken soup, so i instructed the BF to make this tortilla zucchini pizza (!) :

Deeelicious. and ridiculously easy. He is such a good cook : )

The Tortilla Zucchini Pizza:
1 whole wheat tortilla from Trader Joes
1 zucchini
crumbled up goat cheese -TJs as well
1 whole onion
4-5 whole cloves of garlic, smashed up - bf smashed them with the side of a knife
olive oil
salt + paper to taste
pinch of garlic powder

heat a skillet with some olive oil, chop up the onion and saute it in the skillet on low temp until nice and carmalized (will get light brown), ad in the zucchini and saute a little longer until soft.
put a little olive oil on top of the tortilla, then pile on the sautéed veggies, the crumbled goat cheese, smashed garlic, and salt/pepper/garlic powder, and stick it under the broiler for about 10 min! Watch it though - it cooks quickly

simple, no?

my greenlicious dinner:
next to my 2 slices of pizza is a romaine salad with some cucumber, green pepper, baby carrots, and shredded chicken that bf made in the crock-pot thursday night. This chicken is great! It is SO EASY and is very versatile - you can cook it up one day and use it all week in soups, on sandwiches, on salads - anything! Will the post the recipe he used soon...

Oh gosh...how do i do this?

OK. Blogging. Here i go!

...

What to say? My name is HC, i am model/student/soon-to-be-personal trainer-and-nutrition consultant (studying for it right now!)/healthy eater (most of the time ; ) )/exercise addict/chocolate lover.

I love good eats and i love a good workout session, and after becoming a lover of all things health blog, i decided i needed to start my own! Staying fit and healthy while working and attempting to complete an engineering degree is no easy task, lemme tell ya, but i am doing it somehow, AND i am doing it for CHEAP! (college budget anyone?) So i wanted to blog about my experience with keepin' it fit! I also thought this might be a great study aid for my personal training and nutrition exams, and a great way to share all these awesome things i am learning with whoever else wants to hear it!

Hope you like my blog! I hope i can show how easy it can be to live healthy even with a crazy hectic schedule and not a lot of $$!!
